Triple Strand Multicolor Heishi Necklace
Before the Native people of the Southwest used metals, they made heishi, meaning "shell." The beads are flat, smooth discs, and have been hand-cut (!!!!), hand-drilled and hand-polished. Santo Domingo artist, Paul Tenorio, mastered this traditional jewelry making technique while crafting this triple-strand, pen shell, black jet, coral and turquoise heishi necklace! Cones and clasp are made from 925 sterling silver.
